Softball Recap: Childersburg Tigers vs. Vincent Yellow Jackets
Childersburg barely beat Vincent the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Yellow Jackets on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three matches in a row.
Madison Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-5. In other batting news, Lexie Smith and Taraji Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Smith fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5, while Jones went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI.
