Softball Preview: North Side Steers vs. South Hills Scorpions
North Side is 2-8 against South Hills since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Side Steers will look to defend their home field against the South Hills Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. North Side will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Side gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Everman 13-3.
Amira Segovia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. Mia Rodriguez was another key contributor, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, South Hills made sure to put some runs up on the board against Arlington Heights on April 3rd. South Hills walked away with a 12-7 win over Arlington Heights.
The team relied heavily on Amerie Martin, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Natalie Ramirez, who went 1-for-5 with four RBI, a stolen base, and a double.
