The Cochranton Cardinals will take on the Northwestern Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Cochranton came out on top against Cambridge Springs on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Cardinals blew past the Devils 7-1.

Andrew Albert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Cochranton's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Tim Deeter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Bradyen Burnette, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cochranton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambridge Springs only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Northwestern won against Youngsville on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over North East. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Joe Schaukowitsch made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Trysten Lear was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Zac Johnson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Northwestern's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 5-12. As for Cochranton, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.
