Baseball Recap: DC International Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but DC International had no problem doing just that on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers a 4-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Mighty Hoppers back in April, they had to take a 11-0 loss.

The result came thanks to Biko Sheridan's shutout, as he gave up just six hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Carlos Ferman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Darron Francis-Gold, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

DC International's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-9. As for Georgetown Day, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Coming up, DC International will face off against Jackson-Reed at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Dragons surely won't give up without a fight. Georgetown Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
