Madison had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 78-71 win over the Cedar Hill Longhorns. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 61-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Madison was led to victory by Jamirion Rice and Josiah Cobb. Rice dropped a double-double with 27 points and 15 boards, while Cobb shot 50% from the field to rack up 28 points and four steals. Darius Hooks was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Cedar Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
