Basketball Recap: Metter Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Metter challenged Portal on Monday. The Metter Tigers lost to the Portal Panthers on the road by a 62-48 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.

Brian Mcqueen was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 16 en route to 24 points and seven boards for Portal. That's the most points Mcqueen has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zion Lanier, who had 11 points and five rebounds.

Metter's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Portal, their victory bumped their record up to 12-14.

Metter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portal, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-52 defeat against Bryan County on the 11th.
