Basketball Recap: Cardozo's Run of 12 Straight Wins Now Over

Cardozo is ranked highly in their home state and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Riverdale Baptist. The Cardozo Clerks took a 61-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. The Clerks' loss signaled the end of their 12-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Cardozo lost, don't look at Cameron Young. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points. Young is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Flynn Rillstone, who scored eight points and 11 rebounds.

It was another big night for Cannon Greene, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 boards for Riverdale Baptist. Ean McLaughlin was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Cardozo's defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-2. As for Riverdale Baptist, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Cardozo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-59 win against Our Lady of Good Counsel on the 12th. As for Riverdale Baptist, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-58 victory against Mt. Zion Prep Academy on the 17th.
