Hough and Providence are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Huskies will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hough comes in on 12 and Providence on three.

Hough played against West Charlotte on Tuesday and won via forfeit.

Providence's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They didn't even let Garinger on the board, marking the Panthers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Providence let Sophie Strugar and Pheonix Scott run wild. Strugar went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Scott went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Strugar has posted since back in March. Katherine Joiner also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Providence pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Hough, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.

Hough was able to grind out a solid win over Providence when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
