Holy Cross (San Antonio) wins powerlifting title in Abilene on Saturday, led by Joseph Pena's incredible feat.

When they say Joseph Pena can lift a ton, they almost mean it. OK, almost a half-ton.

The 6-foot-1, 310-pound junior center for the football team at Holy Cross (San Antonio, Texas) squatted 930 pounds at the Texas High School Powerlifting Association State Meet on Saturday in Abilene. Nobody else squatted more than 800, and Pena proved he's not just a squats guy. He bench pressed 455 pounds and deadlifted 545.

A rival coach said he's seen Pena doing sets of five with 750 pounds with no suit or knee warps – just sporting a belt. Just amazing.

Pena was on the varsity team last season when the Knights went 9-3.
