Softball Recap: St. Johns Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

St. Johns came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Florence Gophers. The result was nothing new for the Redskins, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

St. Johns let Lucy Sundahl and Kelsey Scarbrough run wild. Sundahl went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases and one run, while Scarbrough went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Kaylee Pulsipher was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs.

St. Johns always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florence only posted an OBP of .389.

St. Johns' win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Florence, they moved to 7-12 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

St. Johns wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 14-6 loss against Verrado on the 19th. As for Florence, they will host Hayden at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lobos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.52 runs per game on average), something the Gophers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
