Volleyball Recap: Foothill Falls Short Against Ranked Arbor View

Foothill faced Arbor View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons fell 3-1 to the Aggies. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Aggies this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss on April 5th.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Arbor View scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Hayden Mauro paced Foothill's offense, picking up 14 kills. Mauro got some help from Jayden Ellizar-Keiki and his 31 assists. Finally, Cooper Stearman kept Foothill's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Foothill's defeat dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Arbor View, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foothill will square off against Coronado at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arbor View, they will face off against Green Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
