 Goretti had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Avalon Black Knights  a   6-0 shutout  on Friday. The  win was nothing new for Goretti as they're now sitting on 14 straight.
  Garrett Gibson looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Goretti let  Will Oates and  Warner Harper loose on the outfield. Oates  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  runs, while  Harper  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with a  home run.
 On Avalon's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Malcolm Blaqman, who  went 1-for-3 with a  double.
 Goretti has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 16 of their last 17 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record  this season. As for Avalon, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-11.
 As of now, neither Goretti nor Avalon have any future games scheduled.
