Basketball Recap: Sedan Takes a Loss

Sedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Oxford Wildcats, falling 53-31. The Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.

Makhila Maupin had a dynamite game for Oxford, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Maupin is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Yasmin Gardea, who posted 13 points and five steals.

Sedan's loss dropped their record down to 1-8-1. As for Oxford, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9.

Sedan will square off against Dexter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oxford, they will take on Sedan at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
