Basketball Recap: Highland Park's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Highland Park had won four straight games and Pearmella Carter did her part to make it five on Tuesday. The Highland Park Scots blew past the Washington Wildcats, posting a 59-13 victory for which the team can thank Carter, who shot 89% from the field to rack up 21 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. The match was her third in a row with at least 16 points.

Another player making a difference was Tahtionna Broils, who posted five points and three blocks. That's the most blocks she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Highland Park's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points on average over those games. As for Washington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Highland Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-32 defeat against Saint Thomas Aquinas on the 7th. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
