Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Comes Up Short

Owen Valley lost against Northview back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Owen Valley Patriots were beaten by the Northview Knights 61-32. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 359th, while the Knights are ranked 37th).

Owen Valley's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Joey Richardson, who posted six points, and Jesse Durnil, who scored eight points.

Trayven Buis was the offensive standout of the matchup as he made all 6 shots he took to post 16 points. Gibson Schimmel also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Owen Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.

Owen Valley has already played their next contest, a 57-43 loss against Linton-Stockton on the 25th. As for Northview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-57 victory against Indian Creek on the 24th.
