Softball Recap: DePaul College Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against Saint Ignatius College Prep on Tuesday, DePaul College Prep came back down to earth. The Rams fell 5-1 to the Regina Dominican Panthers on Wednesday. If the Rams were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Panthers when the teams met back in April of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Gracie Parlier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits.

At the plate, DePaul College Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nell Bansley, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Bansley has hit this season.

DePaul College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Regina Dominican, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DePaul College Prep will welcome IC Catholic Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Regina Dominican, they will take on Francis W. Parker at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Colonels have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.2 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
