Softball Recap: Seton Catholic Makes It Five in a Row at Home

Seton Catholic entered their tilt with Stevenson on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-0 last Tuesday.

Zola Stephens and Jocelyn Kender made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Stephens pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Kender tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024. At bat, Stephens scored three runs while going 4-for-4, while Kender fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave Kender a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kingsley Williams was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kylie McMaster, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Seton Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .656. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Seton Catholic and Stevenson will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Seton Catholic sees the field they'll take on Kalama at 4:00 p.m. on April 8. As for Stevenson, their break will end when they face La Center at 5:00 p.m. on April 8.
