Basketball Game Preview: Veritas Academy Titans vs. Long Island Lutheran Crusaders

The Veritas Academy Titans will challenge the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Veritas Academy's tournament run continued when they took on Brewster Academy National back in December of 2024. Veritas Academy lost 64-43 to Brewster Academy National. The game marked the Titans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Sunday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-48 loss to Southampton.

Long Island Lutheran's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-6. As for Veritas Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Veritas Academy took a serious blow against Long Island Lutheran in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 73-46. Can Veritas Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
