Basketball Recap: Javion Lynch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Louisburg over Carrboro

Louisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrboro Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, with their most recent loss being a 49-45 defeat last Friday.

Louisburg's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javion Lynch, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Alexander, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points.

Even though they lost, Louisburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carrboro only racked up eight assists.

Sam Kanjorski was the offensive standout of the game as he went 6-for-15 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was DB Hamlett, who posted nine points.

Louisburg's record now sits at 7-17. As for Carrboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season.

Louisburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carrboro, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 89-57 defeat against South Granville on the 18th.
