Football Recap: Parke Heritage Falls to Crawfordsville in First Game of Season

Parke Heritage had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Crawfordsville Athenians and fell 48-7. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Parke Heritage lost on Friday, don't look at Bently Lambros. Despite the final result, he rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown.

Maddox Ronco had an outrageously good game for Crawfordsville as he rushed for 154 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Those 154 rushing yards gave Ronco a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason McCarty, who rushed for 35 yards and one score.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parke Heritage will venture away from home to square off against West Vigo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Crawfordsville, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Fountain Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
