Montgomery posted their closest victory since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Cypress Woods Wildcats. The victory was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on three straight.

Delaney Wright paced Montgomery's offense, picking up 19 kills. Wright got some help from Ava Collins and her 33 assists. Finally, Savannah Welch kept Montgomery's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Cypress Woods, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

Montgomery's road trip will continue as they head out to face Burton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cypress Woods, they will face off against Caney Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
