Basketball Game Preview: Evans Trojans vs. Lake Howell Silverhawks

The Evans Trojans will head out to challenge the Lake Howell Silverhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Evans is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Jones on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Evans was dealt a 52-18 defeat at the hands of Jones. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked 150th).

Meanwhile, Lake Howell was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 65-60 to Seminole. The Silverhawks haven't had much luck with the Seminoles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

This is the second loss in a row for Evans and nudges their season record down to 6-12. As for Lake Howell, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Evans was dealt a bruising 52-11 defeat at the hands of Lake Howell in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Evans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
