Basketball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Comes Up Short

Atlantic Shores Christian lost against Peninsula Catholic back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. 2025 welcomed the Atlantic Shores Christian Seahawks with a 73-52 loss courtesy of the Peninsula Catholic Knights. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Knights are ranked 46th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Peninsula Catholic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Gaines, who posted 20 points. With that strong performance, Gaines is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Justin Hunter was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Atlantic Shores Christian has already played their next matchup, a 73-24 win against Gateway Christian on the 6th. As for Peninsula Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-58 victory against Potomac Senior on the 4th.
