Baseball Game Preview: Welch Wildcats vs. Colcord Hornets

Welch hasn't had much luck against Colcord recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Welch's win against Commerce wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Tigers on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted against the Tigers since March 28, 2017.

Colten Moss was incredible, going 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was John Hardin, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Colcord had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over Bluejacket on Monday. The Hornets not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th.

Colcord's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Welch, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-11.
