Baseball Game Recap: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Shikellamy Braves

Bloomsburg had lost 13 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it 14. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 11-1 to the Shikellamy Braves, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Friday.

As for Shikellamy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-12. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.

For Shikellamy's part, Chayse Snyder and Charlie Walter made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Snyder tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Walter tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Shikellamy is undefeated when Snyder allows one or fewer hits, but 3-12 otherwise. At the plate, Snyder went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Walter went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Snyder has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landen Mull, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Strausser, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bloomsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shikellamy, they will be playing at home against Shamokin Area at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
