Baseball Game Preview: De Leon Bearcats vs. Ballinger Bearcats

We've got a battle between Bearcats coming up. De Leon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

De Leon can't be too worried about heading out to take on Ballinger: they just beat Bangs at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. De Leon put the hurt on Bangs with a sharp 7-1 victory on Friday. The Bearcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 5th.

Trenton Zmeskal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adam Perez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Max Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Ballinger entered their tilt with Cisco on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Loboes a 7-0 shutout. The Bearcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

De Leon's win bumped their record up to 10-5-1. As for Ballinger, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 10-5-1.
