Baseball Game Preview: Auburndale Bloodhounds vs. Inspiration Academy Lions

The Auburndale Bloodhounds will take on the Inspiration Academy Lions in a tournament on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Auburndale saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to Lakeland Christian. The defeat continues a trend for the Bloodhounds in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Auburndale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Brattlie, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Inspiration Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Mulberry by a score of 5-4.

Jackson Bradley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ty Harvey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles.

Auburndale's record now sits at 4-12. As for Inspiration Academy, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-4.

Auburndale beat Inspiration Academy 4-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Will Auburndale repeat their success, or does Inspiration Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
