Softball Recap: Laurens Takes a Loss

Laurens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Wren Hurricanes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 last Tuesday.

Laurens' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Wren, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Laurens will square off against Wade Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Generals have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Wren, they will venture away from home to challenge Palmetto at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
