Basketball Recap: Deep Run Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Deep Run Wildcats lost to the Western Branch Bruins on the road by a 66-52 margin.

Western Branch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Camryn Clark, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Brandon Rodgers, who had 13 points.

Deep Run has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Western Branch, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Deep Run will host Godwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godwin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Deep Run likes a good challenge. As for Western Branch, they and Grassfield will meet on Friday for a tough Bear Battle. Western Branch is facing Grassfield at the right time seeing as Grassfield is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
