Softball Recap: Dixie Heights Colonels vs. Mercy McAuley Wolves
On Wednesday, the Dixie Heights Colonels made easy work of the Mercy McAuley Wolves and carried off a 12-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Dixie Heights.
Dixie Heights got a massive performance out of Taylor Ingram, who went 4-for-4 with a triple, a stolen base, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Skees, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.
Dixie Heights' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Mercy McAuley, they haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixie Heights will square off against Bracken County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bracken County will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Dixie Heights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mercy McAuley, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Fenwick at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
