Baseball Recap: Faith Lutheran's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Faith Lutheran had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bakersfield Christian Eagles 4-2.

Faith Lutheran got a great performance from Jordan Watkins as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Watkins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Faith Lutheran's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Swanson, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Faith Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Bakersfield Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Faith Lutheran will challenge Bishop Gorman at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
