Basketball Recap: Baraka Ndegwa's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cleveland over East Hamilton

Cleveland suffered their closest defeat since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the East Hamilton Hurricanes by a score of 58-55. The Blue Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Cleveland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Baraka Ndegwa, who posted six points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Maguire Evans, who put up 13 points.

Cleveland's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for East Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Cleveland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 70-60 defeat against Walker Valley on the 27th. As for East Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-50 victory against Howard Tech on the 28th.
