Oakwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through an 82-36 loss at the hands of the Union Hill Bulldogs. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-30.

Ej Mowery had a dynamite game For Union Hill., rushing for 244 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 15.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 258 yards and four TDs on only 18 passes. Those seven rushing touchdowns gave Mowery a new career-high.
