The Chandler Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Highland Hawks at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Wednesday, Chandler got the win against Valley Vista by a conclusive 14-4. The Wolves have beaten the Monsoon the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Monsoon has come to flipping the script.
Luke Rylee looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Brian Romero was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Devan Wilson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Chandler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley Vista only posted an OBP of .280.
Meanwhile, Highland won against Campo Verde two weeks ago with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Highland blew past Cesar Chavez 17-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Joaquin Warmus looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Highland got a massive performance out of Jake Wesolowski, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Tarwater, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Chandler, their record is now 2-4-1.
Chandler couldn't quite get it done against Highland in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can Chandler avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
