Campbell had lost seven games straight , but after bumping their record up to 5-21 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Scott County Central Braves by a score of 8-5. For the Camels, this counts as revenge for the 17-7 win the Braves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Hartlee Wills was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, Paige Knotts was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Ryann Durham was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As for Scott County Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.
Like Campbell, Scott County Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Khloe Tolle. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Tolle was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jasarra Hicks-Chavez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Camarie Perdue, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Campbell has already played their next match, a 17-7 defeat against Bloomfield on the 1st. As for Scott County Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Delta at 4:30 p.m.
