Football Game Preview: Friendship Christian Commanders vs. Nashville Christian Eagles + Official Tickets

Friendship Christian is a perfect 3-0 against Nashville Christian since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Commanders will square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Nashville Christian will be up against a hot Friendship Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. The Commanders breezed past Mount Juliet Christian Academy to the tune of 63-20 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Commanders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Saints are ranked 299th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Friendship Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Waldorf, who rushed for 57 yards and one score, and also threw for 135 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Waldorf a new career-high in passer rating (154.2). Ryder Wolcott also helped with two touchdowns in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Friendship Christian's defense and their eight sacks. Leading the way was Gideon Knox with three. Knox is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Friendship Christian got some further help from Vinny Henry: he picked up a sack and made three total tackles in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Friendship Christian, adding 14 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Bradyn Stringer, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Friday. Nashville Christian claimed a resounding 65-12 victory over Ezell-Harding Christian.

Friendship Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Nashville Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Everything came up roses for Friendship Christian against Nashville Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the team secured a 56-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Commanders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
