Softball Recap: Glencoe Takes Down Ranked Jesuit

Glencoe faced Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Crimson Tide skirted past the Crusaders 7-6. That's two games straight that the Crimson Tide have won by just one run.

Irene Vandyke was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kalli Farrimond was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Glencoe is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Jesuit, they moved to 12-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Glencoe and Jesuit will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Crimson Tide will take on rival Newberg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Jesuit is set to challenge their familiar foe Mountainside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
