Basketball Recap: Hastings Tigers vs. McCook Bison
Hastings was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McCook Bison. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 48-35 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Hastings lost, don't look at Makenzie Nollette. Despite the final result, she went 10-for-17 en route to 25 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Nollette a new career-high in field goal percentage (59%). Ella Timsman was another key player, putting up seven points and seven boards.
McCook found their leader in freshman Alice Weimer, who went 5-for-6 to rack up 19 points and four steals. Weimer continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Bortner, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.
Hastings' defeat dropped their record down to 4-18. As for McCook, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.
Hastings does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for McCook, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-47 loss against Northwest on the 25th.
