Quartz Hill came tearing into Thursday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Knight Hawks on the board, marking their second-straight 14-0 shutout. The Royals' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Dakota Ponder tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nina Sepulveda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Emily Cowan was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Quartz Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Quartz Hill's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Knight, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Quartz Hill didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 defeat against Temescal Canyon on the 12th. As for Knight, they will square off against Eastside at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
