Basketball Recap: Lafayette Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

LaFayette lost to Gilmer on January 4th, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The LaFayette Ramblers walked away with a 70-59 win over the Gilmer Bobcats.

Despite the defeat, Gilmer had strong showings from Keegen Bryant, who went 11 for 21 on his way to 24 points and three steals, and Jd Taylor, who went 8 of 14 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. The game was Taylor's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Preston Mcvey was another key player, putting up six points.

LaFayette has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Gilmer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. LaFayette has already played their next contest (against Heritage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gilmer will face off against Murray County at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Gilmer is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
