Softball Recap: Madonna Picks Up 15th Consecutive Victory

Madonna entered their tilt with East Liverpool on Thursday with 14 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 15. They blew past the Potters 13-2. The Blue Dons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Potters, too.

Kendall Ryan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Madonna got a massive performance out of Madi Owens, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Orecchio, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Madonna kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Madonna's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for East Liverpool, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madonna will take on Weir at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Liverpool, they will challenge Brooke at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
