If Piper wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Western, they should've done a better job of containing Sarah Perez (Ojeda). The Wildcats blew past the Bengals 3-0 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Perez (Ojeda), who had 20 digs and eight aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

While Western won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-3, 25-11, 25-22.

Despite the loss, Piper saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Melody Delamotte had 24 digs.

Western's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Piper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Western wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against West Boca Raton on the 5th. As for Piper, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Plantation on the 5th.
