Game recap: Cleveland High School Football Team bests South Johnston

Cleveland (Clayton, N.C.) defeat South Johnston (Four Oaks, N.C.) 32-12 after a strong game from Isaac Martin, who rushed for four touchdowns. The scores gave the senior 26 touchdowns for the year.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Martin in the first quarter, the Rams were up 13-6 at the half.

Cleveland expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by Aaron Farmer.

The Clayton school has had a rough season, allowing 32.4 points per game. But the Rams tightened up and held the Trojans right around their season average of 14.3 points per game.

Cleveland also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 47-21.



The win brought Cleveland's winning streak to four games.

Cleveland (7-3) goes up against Western Harnett in a 3A Conference 13 game matchup next week, while South Johnston (2-8) locks horns with Smithfield-Selma also in a 3A Conference 13 game.
