Baseball Recap: Lanesville Takes a Loss

Lanesville lost against Madison back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles fell 5-2 to the Cubs.

Dayton Campbell was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Campbell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season.

Campbell wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nolyn Hall, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Jeremy Guffey also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Lanesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Madison, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

While Lanesville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
