Basketball Recap: Elliott County Comes Up Short

Elliott County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Carter Raiders. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Lions came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Raiders are ranked 238th).

Elliott County's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for East Carter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.

Elliott County will face off against West Carter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elliott County is facing West Carter at the right time seeing as West Carter is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for East Carter, they will square off against Greenup County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
