Volleyball Game Preview: Wilby Wildcats vs. Ansonia Chargers

The Wilby Wildcats will head out to face off against the Ansonia Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ansonia took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilby, who comes in off a win.

Wilby barely beat Derby the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Red Raiders with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Wilby got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 30-28.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Ansonia and Naugatuck, and Naugatuck kept the tradition alive. The Chargers lost 3-0 to the Greyhounds on Friday. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Greyhounds recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Wilby's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Ansonia, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Wilby might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Ansonia in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
