Baseball Recap: Gateway Charter Takes a Loss

Gateway Charter lost against Oasis last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Griffins came up short against the Sharks, falling 10-3. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gateway Charter saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Lackwood, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lackwood has become a key player for the Griffins: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-16 otherwise. Another was Christopher Marrero, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Gateway Charter's loss dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Oasis, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Gateway Charter will face off against Community School of Naples at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oasis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ida Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
