Brunswick barely beat Williamsport the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Brunswick was the clear victor by a 13-6 margin over Williamsport on Friday. Considering the Railroaders have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kassidy Barnhouse spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Taylor Benson and Alexis Loy did most of the damage at the plate: Benson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Loy scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Loy also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Higgins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, while Catoctin put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Smithsburg. Catoctin blew past Smithsburg 10-0. The Cougars' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on Madison Ohler, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Kreitz, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Catoctin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Brunswick and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Catoctin, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.
Catoctin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brunswick has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Catoctin, though, as they've only averaged .356. Will they be able to contain Brunswick's hitters?
