Recap: Linn Wildcats vs. Fayette Falcons
The Linn Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. Everything went their way against Fayette as Linn made off with a 65-45 victory. That looming 65-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Linn yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Linn to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Keilholz, who shot 5-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Keilholz scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Noah Hall, who scored 23 points along with three steals.
Fayette lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kaleb Friebe, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Vroman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Linn's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Fayette, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.
Linn is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Owls at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Marshall is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season. As for Fayette, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Hornets on January 26th. Fulton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully the Falcons likes a good challenge.
