Basketball Game Preview: Fountain Hills Falcons vs. Pima Roughriders

The Fountain Hills Falcons will take on the Pima Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Fountain Hills: 26, Pima: 27.9) so any points scored will be well earned.

Fountain Hills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They strolled past Valley with points to spare, taking the game 50-31.

Fountain Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taleigha Bonnaha led the charge by going 6-for-13 to rack up 16 points along with seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Bonnaha a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Seilah Smith, who posted ten points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pima blew past Horizon Honors, posting a 58-26 victory. The Roughriders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Pima's win came from a few key players Fountain Hills will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Macy Allred, who went 7-for-11 en route to 19 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kelsi Brimhall was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Pima smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Fountain Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. Pima's win bumped their record up to 20-8.
